DUSHANBE, September 14, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) intends to work out a program of reforms in agrarian sector, Narzullo Dadaboyev, a spokesman for a MoA, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, to work out the program the ministry has set up working groups for all subsectors of agriculture.
“The necessity of this program results from the global financial crisis and the ministry specialists will work out the agriculture reform program to ensure the food security of the country,” said the spokesman, “The main objectives of the program are in reducing taxation in the agrarian sector, improving export system, raising quality and competitiveness of local products both at domestic and external markets, as well as promoting effectiveness of scientific researches in the agrarian sector.”
A final draft program is expected to be submitted for consideration to the government in the second half-year of 2010, the spokesman said.
