DUSHANBE, September 15, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On Monday September 14, the chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sharif Said met here with top managers of three Canadian companies, namely Mr. Igor Abramov, Senior Vice-President of HB Global Advisors Corp for International Development, Mr. Robert Bell, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SLFTER (phonetically spelled), and Mr. Stuart Skuars, President of Canod (phonetically spelled) Energy Technology (Beijing) Limited, according to the CCI press service.
The sides discussed issues related to establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation in exploring and developing oil-and-gas deposits in Tajikistan as well as training of specialists in management, marketing and law for Tajikistan in Canada.
Mr. Bell noted that their corporation was ready to invest in exploration oil-and-gas fields and in Tajikistan and establish cooperation with Tajikistan’s main Geology Directorate.
The meeting resulted in signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the CCI and HB Global Corp and strengthening of trade and investment ties between Tajikistan and Canada, the press service.
With support of the CCI, meetings of top managers of the mentioned Canadian companies with senior representatives and specialists from the ministries of economic development and trade as well as energy and industries were arranged.
