DUSHANBE, September 16, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The fourth session of the Tajik-Russian joint working group for implementation of the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation on labor migration and protection of rights of Tajik nationals in Russia and protection of rights of Russian nationals in Tajikistan will be held in Dushanbe on October 25-26, according to the Tajik Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The meeting participants include representatives from Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS), Tajik MoI migration service, as well as relevant ministries and institutions of the two countries, international and non-governmental organizations.
The meeting aims to discuss issues related to coordination of actions of the Russian FMS and the Tajik MoI migration service on receiving and employing labor migrants from Tajikistan through the centers for receiving labor migrants, medical examination of labor migrants, as well as joint measures to recruit and sending labor migrants from Tajikistan to Russia.
The meeting participants are also expected to exchange views on the process of implementation of the mentioned agreement and discuss both countries’ approach to solution of migration problems.
We will recall that the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation on labor migration and protection of rights of Tajik nationals in Russia and protection of rights of Russian nationals in Tajikistan was signed in Dushanbe on October 16, 2004.
