DUSHANBE, September 16, 2009, Asia-Plus -- All categories of farms have produced 190,000 tons of various vegetables this year so far, which is 46,000 tons more than in the same period of last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
In all, Tajik farmers are expected to produce more than 276,000 tons of various vegetables this year, the source said.
Besides, local farmers have produced some 200,000 tons of watermelons, melons and gourds this year, which is 84 percent more than it was originally planned. This year’s target of watermelons, melons and gourds has been determined at 109,100 tons.
