DUSHANBE, September 22, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A meeting of Tajikistan’s economic team with representatives of the World Bank was held at the Ministry of Finance (MoF) on September 19, according to the MoF press service.
Mr. Motu Konishi, the World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia. Ms. Chiara Bronchi, the World Bank Country Manager for Tajikistan, Mr. Sudharshan Canagarajah, a Lead Economist in the Europe and Central Asia Region (ECA) of the World Bank, and Ms. Wendy Werner, Country Coordinator of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), took part at the meeting that was dedicated to consider a new Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) for Tajikistan for the next three years (2010-2012).
The World Bank representatives held presentations reflecting strategic tasks, expected results in post-crisis period as well as a number of programs for mitigation of negative impact of crisis on Tajikistan’s economy, the press service said.
