DUSHANBE, October 5, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Tajik Drug Control Agency have seized more than 743 kilograms of narcotics, including more than 302 kilograms o heroin, 142.6 kilograms of raw opium and more than 198 kilograms of cannabis, over the first nine month of this year, according to the DCA press service.
Over the report period, the counternarcotics agency burned more than 1,791 kilograms of narcotics that were confiscated in the course 2008-2009.
During the antidrug operation, dubbed Channel 2009, which was carried out on the territories of member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) from September 22 to September 28 this year, Tajik law enforcement authorities solved 27 drug-related crimes and intercepted more than 303 kilograms of narcotics.
