DUSHANBE, October 8, Asia-Plus - A meeting of Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi with his Danish counterpart, Per Stig Møller, was held here on October 8.
According to the MFA information department, the two considered a broad range of issues related to cooperation between the two countries. They, in particular, discussed a legal foundation of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Denmark, Danish development program, water-and-energy problems, regional security, the current situation in Afghanistan and some other international and regional issues being of mutual interest.
On the problems of providing regional security, Danish minister stressed that Tajikistan plays a key role in providing regional stability in the Central Asian region.
The sides also pointed to the necessity of supporting reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy through implementation of regional project aimed at construction of roads, railways, hydropower plants and power transmission lines. In this context, they underlined the importance of regional energy and transportation projects being implemented on the territory of Tajikistan, the MFA information department said.
