KHUJAND, October 12, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Increasing tax debts in Sughd province evokes serious concern of local authorities.
According to the Sughd prosecutor’s office, tax debts in northern Tajikistan increased by 25.6 million somoni in eight months to September 1, 2009, reaching 146.3 million somoni. Social tax debts increased by 7.4 million somoni over the report period, reaching, as of September 1, 40.6 million somoni.
Large tax debts have been reported in the city of Khujand as well as the districts of Isfara, Asht, Mastchoh, Bobojonghafurov, Zafarobod, Panjakent, Konibodom and Spitamen, the source said.
