DUSHANBE, October 14, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The head of the Agency for Construction and Architecture (Agency) Abduvali Komilov told reporters in Dushanbe on October 13 that construction of the first nine- and five-story apartment buildings will start in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) next year.
According to him, construction of these apartment buildings is timed to coincide with celebration of the anniversary of Tajikistan’s Day of National Unity. The National Unity Day is marked on June 27 and in 2010, the main celebrations dedicated to this event will be held in Khorog.
“Besides, new buildings for the GABO prosecutor’s office, police directorate, central regional hospital and dormitory for students of Khorog State University as well as boarding school for talented children will be built in Khorog and the Khorog theatre’s building will be renovated,” Komilov said.
He added that construction of stadiums in administrative centers of Roshtqala and Vanj districts as well as republican boarding school in the Rushan district and a culture palace in the Darvoz district would be completed by June 27, 2010.
