DUSHANBE, October 15, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Ms. Yelena Kislitsina, the chairperson of the demographic statistics and employment department within the State Committee for Statistics, told Asia-Plus on October 15 that the bodies of 570 Tajik citizens were returned from other countries in January-September this year.
According to her, the number of Tajiks that have died outside the country over the report period may be higher if to take into consideration that many families do not have funds for transportation of the bodies of their relatives to the country.
Ms. Kislitsina added that Tajikistan received the bodies of 731 of its citizens from abroad, mainly from Russia, in 2008.
