DUSHANBE, October 16, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan and China have reportedly singed an agreement on use of the Chinese national currency, the Yuan, in Tajik-Chinese financial cooperation.
According to the Amonatbonk press service, the document was inked by Mahmadamin Mahmadaminov, Chairman of the Board of Amonatbonk, and Chen Yuan (phonetically spelled), Chairman of the Board of China State Bank, in Beijing on October 13.
The agreement is dedicated to promote further increase in use of the Yuan in bilateral financial cooperation for supporting a two-way trade between China and Tajikistan as well as to provide ease of trade payments.
In the course of the talks, the sides also discussed prospects of expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between their banks.
Specialists from both banks are to develop a five-year plan of cooperation between Amonatbonk and China State Bank. A special attention in this plan should be paid to assessment and examination of investment projects, the press service said.
