KULOB, October 17, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Over the first nine months of this year, Khatlon’s Vose district has produced 172.117 million somoni (TJS) worth of agricultural output, which is 24 million somoni more than in the same period of last year, Vose chairman Sulton Valiyev said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
“Over the report period, local farmers have produced 57,032 tons of grains, 20,544 tons of vegetables, 6,969 tons of potatoes, 10,369 tons of melon crops, 2,501 tons of fruits and 5,810 tons of grapes,” Valiyev said.
According to him, the Vose livestock breeders have also yielded good results over the same nine-month period, having produced 1,588 tons of meats, 13,685 tons of milk and 1.7 million eggs.
