DUSHANBE, October 19, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- From January 1 to October 15 this year, six citizens of Tajikistan were killed and 17 others were wounded in Russia on the basis of xenophobia, the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights ( www.antirasizm.ru ) reported.

Among victims of skinheads are also nationals of Uzbekistan (14 were killed and 12 were wounded), Kyrgyzstan (6 were killed and 10 were wounded), Azerbaijan (5 were killed and 14 were wounded), Armenia (3 were killed and 14 were wounded), Vietnam (3 were killed), as well as nationals of African states (1 was killed and 18 were wounded).  Over the report period, Koreans and Chinese citizens have also become victims of attack motivated by the aggressive xenophobia.

The Moscow Bureau for Human Rights reports that over the report period, 190 attacks and attempted attacks motivated by aggressive xenophobia were committed in Russia, and 62 dead and 251 wounded at least were their results.  Over the same period of 2008, 104 persons were killed and at least 325 others were wounded in the attacks motivated by the aggressive xenophobia and in 2007, at least 55 persons were killed and 270 others were wounded in such attacks in Russia.
