KULOB, October 20, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Over the first nine months of this year, Khatlon’s Shuroobod district has produced a total of 9.2307 million somoni (TJS) worth of industrial goods, which is 4.9 percent more than in the same period of last year, the Shuroobod chairman Ibrohim Azizov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, local entrepreneurs have activated, launching small enterprises that are the most efficient in mountain areas.
“In January-September this year, the district has produced 2,580 tons of coals, 4,649 tons of wheat flour, 37 tons of cooking (cotton) oil, 90 tons of breads and bakery products,” Azizov said, adding that the district administration is currently considering the issue of allotment of lands to a number of local entrepreneurs for launching small enterprises.
