DUSHANBE, October 29, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On Wednesday October 28, Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding and open joint-stock company Turboatom (Kharkov, Ukraine) signed a contract in Dushanbe on production of equipment for the Norak hydroelectric power plant (HPP).
The first deputy head of the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management, Abdughaffor Rahmonov, told reporters in Dushanbe yesterday that the Kharkov company will produce and supply to Tajikistan spare parts for revolving valves of all units of the station.
A total cost of the equipment is 2 million U.S. dollars and they are scheduled to be manufactured in 12 months, Rahmonov said.
Turboatom specializes in the production of turbines for thermoelectric and nuclear power stations, hydraulic turbines for hydroelectric power stations and hydro-accumulator stations, gas turbines for thermoelectric power stations, and steam-and-gas equipment as well as other energy equipment. A 75.22% stake in the enterprise belongs to the state and is managed by the State Property Fund.
