DUSHANBE, October 30, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Customs officers seized some five kilogram of heroin at the Dushanbe airport on October 29, according to the Customs Service press service.
An inspection of passengers on the Dushanbe-Almaty (Kazakhstan) flight found more than 4.857 kilograms of heroin hidden between sides and lining of a suitcase belonging to the 33-year-old Tajik national Abdumalik Ghaniyev.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted on drug trafficking charges and the case has been transferred to the transportation prosecutor’s office for further investigation, the press service said.
