DUSHANBE, November 4, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Deputy Minister of Energy and Industries, Poulod Muhiddinov, told reporters in Dushanbe yesterday that Tajikistan is currently conducting negotiations with Kazakhstan on power deliveries to Tajikistan during autumn-winter period.
According to him, the Ministry of Energy and Industries of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan discussed the issue of the delivery of electricity from southern Kazakhstan to Tajikistan in winter period on November 3.
“We agreed that working group comprising representatives from Barqi Tojik power holding will travel to Almaty on Monday to continue negotiations on this issue with representatives from the Kazakh Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources,” Muhiddinov said.
