DUSHANBE, November 11, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The 8th meeting of the working group for Afghanistan at the council of foreign ministers of member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is being held in Moscow today.
According to press release issued by the CSTO Secretariat, the meeting has brought together national coordinators on Afghanistan and experts.
The meeting participants are exchanging views on the current situation in Afghanistan and reviewing the results of work carried out in the first half-year of 2009. They will also consider a draft plan o work for the first half-year of 2010.
Founded in June 2005, the working group for Afghanistan is dedicated to work out recommendations regarding events aimed at combating drug threat and supporting formation and development of institutions of state power in Afghanistan.
