DUSHANBE, November 12, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Limited liability company, Charkhi Gardoun, which is the first media holding in Tajikistan, will be fifteen on November 18, 2009.
The first weekly of this media holding, Digest Press , was brought out on November 18, 1994.
The limited liability company, Charkhi Gardoun, now publishes seven weeklies, namely Vecherny Dushanbe , Digest Press , Charkhi Gardoun , Avitsena (Avicenna), Aladdin , Den za Dnyem , and Mard va Zan .
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Charkhi Gardoun head Akbarali Sattorov said that they were going to issue another weekly this year – Homai Zarin (Gold Pen). “Unfortunately, the financial crisis has affected our plans,” said Mr. Sattorov, “However, we intend to begin publishing Homai Zarin and Tajik version of Den za Dnyem next year.”
He added that his dream was publishing a daily newspaper that would operationally cover current events in the country.
