DUSHANBE, November 19, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A dormitory of Tajik State Medical University situated on the Alisher Navoi Street in Dushanbe has reopened after an extensive renovation.
The source at the Ministry of Health (MoH) said the dormitory reopened to students yesterday after a renovation that cost 1.5 million somoni and took some nine months to complete. The funds for renovation of the dormitory to accommodate 650 students were provided by Tajik State Medical University itself.
The renovation aimed to modernize the dormitory and make it more sustainable in terms of dwelling, the source said.
The renovation work began in march this year.
Tajik State Medical University now has 5,886 students, including some 500 students from 16 countries of the world.
