KHOROG, November 20, 2009, Asia-Plus -- While Unit 3 of the pamir-1 hydropower plant is currently under repairs, provisions of power supply to Khorog and nearby districts have been temporarily made on restricted basis since November 18.
According to the Pamir Energy Company (PamirEnergy), which runs the Pamir-1 hydropower plant, the unit was shut down because of malfunction. “The plant specialists are currently working to remove the malfunction ad the work is expected to be completed by the end of this week,” the source said.
Under the temporal schedule, electricity is currently supplied to Khorog and nearby districts four hours per day – two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening.
