DUSHANBE, November 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan, savings bank, Amonatbonk, plans to purchase shares in the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP) for 2 million somoni (equivalent to more than 460,000 U.S. dollars), according to Amonatbonk’s press service.
This issue was discussed at an enlarged meeting of the Amonatbonk Board on November 24. The meeting participants also proposed to give up part of one-month’s wages to help Roghun’s construction.
As it had been reported earlier, shares in Roghun are expected to become available for trading on the country''s stock market in 2010.
We will recall that Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov told Asia-Plus on November 23 that the face value of share in Roghun is expected to be 100 somoni. According to him, some 770 million U.S. dollars are needed to introduce the first line of the station into operation.
