DUSHANBE, December 9, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Employees of subdivisions of Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) in Gorno Badakhshan, totaling more than 200 people, have given up their one-day’s wages to help construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP), according to Amonatbonk’s press service.
Besides, employees of Amonabonk’s branches in Khatlon’s Kulob zone transferred more than 5,000 somoni to the Roghun bank account on December 7.
“The bank’s branches in other regions of the country will support this initiative within the next few days,” the source said, noting that the Amonatbonk administration intends to buy shares in Roghun for a total amount of 3 million U.S. dollars.
