QURGHON TEPPA, December 11, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A loan portfolio of the branch of open joint-stock company Orienbonk (Tajikistan’s largest commercial bank) in Qurghon Teppa has risen 50 percent in the year to December 1, 2009, reaching 3.284 million somoni, the branch head Bahrom Rasoulov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, deposits at the branch, which serves nine districts in the province, have also risen some 50 percent over the report period.
“Among the branch’s clients is a Tajik-Cypriot joint venture TojikAzot, which has received a 2 million somoni loan from the branch,” Rasoulov said.
He added that the branch’s employees had transferred 1,000 somoni to help Roghun’s construction. “I would also like to note that my family has agreed to transfer 1,000 somoni every month to help the Roghun hydroelectricity project,” Rasoulov stressed.
