DUSHANBE, December 16, 2009, Asia-Plus -- In Tajikistan, gross domestic product (GDP) rose 3,1 percent in the year to November 30, 2009, reaching 18.3879 billion somoni (equivalent to 4.1 billion U.S. dollars), according to the State Committee for Statistics.
Inflation for January-November 2009 stood at 4.9 percent.
Prices of products of food industry rose 2.1 percent in eleven months to December, 2009. A 6.3 percent increase in prices of non-foodstuffs has been reported in January-November 2009. Over the same eleven-month period, prices and rates for services rendered to the population have increased by 13.7 percent.
The cost of the set of food products included in the consumer basket for actual consumption (based on figures from households studied during 2008) in prices as of the end of November 2009 was 90.00 somoni per one family member per month, and with the norm for a balanced diet it was 180.00 somoni.
