KULOB, December 17, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Farmers in Khatlon’s Kulob zone have planted winter wheat on 54,891 hectares to this day, which is 67 percent of the target, Abdullo Rajabov, a leading specialist with the Kulob agriculture directorate, told Asia-Plus Thursday afternoon.
According to him, the winter wheat yields are higher than the spring wheat in the region, and therefore, it has been deiced to plant the winter wheat on 80 percent of areas allocated for gain production.
