DUSHANBE, December 22, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A new school was officially opened in Khatlon’s Jomi district on December 20.
According to Noilsho Nouraliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education (MoE), the school to accommodate 480 pupils, was built due funds allocated from the national budget.
A total cost of the project is more than 1 million somoni The school is provided with all necessary school furniture and the MoE provided six computers for its computer class.
“Construction company, StroyFors, has constructed the school building in six month,” the spokesman said, adding that 11 schools have been put into operation in Khatlon since the beginning of this year.
In all, 89.9 million somoni have been provided this year for major repairs to educational facilities in the country, which is 4.5 times more than in 2008, Nouraliyev noted.
