DUSHANBE, December 23, 2009, Asia-Plus  -- The 30-year-old N.R. was detained in Khujand yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing, according to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press service.

A package of narcotic drug that was tested positive to hashish weighing more than one kilogram was confiscated from the peddler.

In the course of interrogation, N.R. said that he had purchased the drugs from the 19-year-old resident of Sughd’s Ghonchi district A.N., who, for his part, had taken the hashish for pushing from the 45-year-old Khujand resident D.A.

The same day, when searching the house of D.A., the drug control officers found a package containing 802 grams of hashish.

A total weight of the confiscated hashish is 1.829 kilograms.  Criminal proceedings have been instituted against all three drug peddlers and an investigation is under way.
