DUSHANBE, December 24, 2009, Asia-Plus -- An auction for exchequer bill floatation took place at the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) on December 22, according to the NBT press service.
The exchequer bills were issued for total amount of 10 million somoni and the exchequer bill circulation period is 91 days. The annual interest rate paid to investors during the life of the bill is 75 percent.
According to the NBT press service, the national exchequer bills are short-term discounted national securities of the government of Tajikistan that are issued in a paperless form with the face value of 100 somoni and the circulation period of 28 to 364 days.
The bills may be acquired both by residents and non-residents of Tajikistan. Applications for participation in auction can be lodged only by authorized participants (Dealers). Applications of other physical and legal entities must be lodged to auction for the exchequer bill floatation through dealers.
