DUSHANBE, January 19, 2010, Asia-Plus -- With support from German donors, the National Social Investment Fund of Tajikistan (NSIFT) plans to build 38 schools in the southern Khatlon province until 20113, the NSIFT executive director Saidahmad Mirzoyev told reporters in Dushanbe on January 18.
According to him, NSIFT in cooperation the German Development Bank (KfW) and the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) implemented 29 projects in 2005-2009 in the framework of the project, Support for Development of Basic Education and Rehabilitation of Communal Infrastructure.
“Of those 29 projects, 22 were aimed at construction of new schools, 2 were aimed at renovation of school buildings, three projects supported enhancement of the health sector, one project was aimed at improving power supply and one project was aimed at improving natural-gas supply,” Mirzoyev said, noting that donors and the government of Tajikistan provided totaling 6.071 euros for implementation of the mentioned projects.
