KULOB, January 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- In 2009, Khatlon’s Baljuvon district produced a total of 12.6716 million somoni worth of industrial goods, which is only 8,000 somoni more than in 2008, according to the district administration.
The source at the Baljuvon administration noted that an increase could be larger but oil and gas productions decreased significantly last year.
“Last year, the district produced only 1,557 tons of oil and 2.3 million cubic meters of natural gas, which is 80 and 74.2 percent of the 2008 level respectively,” source noted.
In the meantime, local small enterprises overfulfilled their targets on production of wheat flour, vegetable oil, breads and bakery products last year, he added.
