DUSHANBE, January 25, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Tax Committee overfulfilled last year’s tax collection target by 7 percent, transferring 2.283 billion somoni to the public purse, the Tax Committee head Nusratullo Davlatov announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on January 25.
According to him, tax officers fulfilled targets on all 17 types of taxes. “However, there were some problems with collection of mineral resources royalty and a single tax on land,” said Davlatov, “Last year, the country received 31.4 million somoni less from these types of taxes.”
Collection of social security tax was overfulfilled last year by 2.1 percent. “In 2009, we collected social security taxes for 481.3 million somoni in social security taxes against the originally planned 471.5 million somoni, which is 134 million somoni more than in 2008,” Davlatov noted.
In the meantime, the country’s tax debts increased by some 100 million somoni in the year to January 1, 2010, reaching 610.8 million somoni, he added.
