DUSHANBE, February 3, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Tajik police have detained an armed Afghan drug trafficker in the southern Khatlon province, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI said the 40-year-old Afghan national Muhammadkomil waladi Muhammadtohir was detained in the border area, 21st kilometer of road from Panj to Farkhor, on February 2. Assault rifle Kalashnikov, F-1 hand grenade and 12.5 kilograms of raw opium were confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the Afghan drug trafficker and an investigation is under way
