KHOROG, February 5, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The electoral commission for the Khorog single-mandate constituency for election to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) has registered four candidates to compete for a seat in the parliament from this constituency.
The electoral commission head Otamsho Maqboulshoyev said that head of the GBAO regional library Alidod Cahroghabdolov, nominated by the Communist Party (CPT), head of the state committee for statistics Mirgand Shabozov, nominated by the People’s Democratic Party, teacher from Khorog school # 7 Alim Sherzamonov, nominated by the Social-Democratic Party (SDPT), and self-propelled candidate Mirzosain Ghulomaseinov, who works as manager for the Pamir Energy Company in the Ishkashim district, will compete for a seat in the Majlisi Namoyandagon in the Khorog constituency.
On February 14, a meeting of voters with candidates, nominated for election through a proportional, party list system from a single, countrywide constituency, will take place in Khorog, Maqboulshoyev said.
