DUSHANBE, February 10, 2010, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday February 9, Mr. Axel Schimmelpfennig, chief of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission to Tajikistan, and Mr. Luc Moers, the IMF Resident Representative in Tajikistan, met here with top managers of Orienbonk, Tajikistan’s largest commercial bank.
The source at Orienbonk’s head office in Dushanbe said that the Orienbonk top managers had informed the Fund representatives “of efficiency of the financial results of the past year’s activity of Orienbonk.”
“The IMF representatives were, in particular, informed of loan arrears, lending operations to the cotton sector in Tajikistan, new interest rates in lending, current liquidity and liquidity for the report, as well effects of the global financial crisis and measures taken by the bank to solve difficulties that emerged,” he said.
In the course of the talks, the sides also considered issues related to selling shares in Roghun and supporting the construction of the Roghun HPP, the source added.
