DUSHANBE, February 12, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Russian companies are expanding their participation in construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in Tajikistan, Russia’s news agency Itar Tass reported, referring to Aleksandr Yakovlev, head of the Russian trade representative office in Tajikistan.
“To this day, a number of Russian leading companies have expressed wish to participate in completion of the construction of the Roghun HPP,” Yakovlev said.
As of the end of December last year, eight large Russian construction and planning companies have participated in construction of this hydropower facility, he noted.
“A total number of Russian specialists involved in the project is more than 1,000 people and most of them are skilled professionals who participated in construction of the Nurek and Sangtuda-1 stations,” Russian trade representative said, adding that all necessary conditions have been created for builders.
