KULOB, February 15, 2010, Asia-Plus -- On Friday February 12, four activists of the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) were detained in Kulob for spreading leaflets of agitation for IRPT’s candidate at local mosque.
The Kulob police department chief, Colonel Abdulvahhob Iskandarov, told Asia-Plus Saturday afternoon that four residents of the village of Jerqala in the Kulob district Abdulvosit Saidov, Dilovar Davlatov, Murodali Amonov and Bahrom Davlatov were spreading leaflets of agitation for IRPT’ candidate for parliament Saidumar Huseini to parishioners at the Hoji Mirzo Mosque in the city of Kulob Friday afternoon.
“Their actions are in contrary with Article 64 of the country’s administrative code,” said Iskandarov, “They were taken to a police station for questioning and were released after being warned to avoid breaking laws any more.”
