DUSHANBE, February 16, 2010, Asia-Plus - Tajik farmers have plowed 72 percent of a total area under crops to this day, according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA).
“Farmers have plowed more than 468,000 hectares so far, which is 72 percent of a total area under various agricultural crops,” the source said, noting that the spring sowing campaign would be launched in March.
According to him, 170,000 hectares have been allocated for cotton this year and 84 percent (142,600 hectares) of these lands have already been plowed.
