DUSAHNBE, February 16, 2010, Asia-Plus - On Monday February 15, officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) warded off several drug pushing attempts in the country, according to the DCA press service.
A package containing narcotic drug that was tested positive to heroin weighing some nine kilograms was found in the house of the 58-year-old resident of the Hissor district, A.I.
B.Sh. was detained on the territory of Dushanbe’s Hospital # 1. A wrap of raw opium weighing 22.7 grams was confiscated from him.
Besides, the 27-year-old resident of the Fayzobodo district, Z.E., who is student at Tajikistan’s National Conservatory, was detained on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing. 27 matchboxes of narcotic drug that was tested positive to cannabis weighing 142.3 grams were confiscated from him.
The same day, counternarcotics officers found several matchboxes containing 126.8 grams of cannabis when searching Opel-Vectra belonging to the Dushanbe resident, N.H.
All the detained drug pushers are currently being held at the DCA pretrial detention facility and criminal proceedings have been instituted against them.
