KHUJAND, February 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The registration of four candidates for Khujand legislature (City Majlisi) has been annulled by a decision of the regional electoral commission, Asia-Plus has learned from Nabijon Poulodov, a secretary for the regional electoral commission.
According to him, the regional electoral commission annulled the registration of those four candidates following a complaint by the organization of the Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) for Sughd province.
“The regional commission received the complaint from the IRPT organization in the province that the city electoral commission had registered candidates for Khujand legislature wrong,” said Poulodov, “According to the IRPT appeal, a person lives in one place while is registered as candidate in another constituency.”
The head of the regional electoral commission, Naim Malikislomov, visited the constituencies mentioned in the appeal to check the information received. “The information was confirmed and the registration of Mavlouda Imomnazarova (constituency $ 21), Said Ahmadov (constituency # 26), Niloufar Kushnazarova (constituency # 31) and Sattorqul Shodmonqulov (constituency # 38) was annulled,” Poulodov said.
