DUSHANBE, February 23, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Tajik police will be put on alert from February 24 to March 1 in connection with the upcoming elections to the parliament and local legislatures, the source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
“These measures are taken to ensure maintenance of public order on the threshold of the parliamentary elections scheduled for February 28,” the source said, noting that strength of police patrols in the cities and settlements will be increased and twenty-four hour duty will be organized.
