DUSHANBE, February 24, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov at the head of the government delegation today morning departed for Kiev, Ukraine to attend Victor Yanukovych’s inauguration as new Ukrainian president, according to the Tajik MFA information department.
Viktor Yanukovych will be inaugurated as the new president of Ukraine tomorrow, February 25.
Ukrainian media report Viktor Yanukovych will have a modest inauguration ceremony due to Ukraine’s economic woes.
The inauguration ceremony will begin at 10 hours in the morning (8:00 GMT) in the Supreme Rada, the country''s parliament, where Yanukovych will be sworn in. The ceremony will then move to the doorsteps of the presidential office building where Yanukovych will hear a report from the chief of the Ukrainian General Staff. At 14 hours in the afternoon (12:00 p.m. GMT), a small reception ceremony will be held for foreign delegations in the Ukrainian House in Kiev on the occasion of Yanukovych''s inauguration.
Yanukovych is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign delegations on the inauguration day, Ukrainian media reported.
