DUSHANBE, March 2, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Drug control officers have detained a drug peddler at the railroad station in Qurghon Teppa, Khatlon province.
According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press service, the 28-year-old resident of the Vahdat district, Y.Z., was detained at the railroad station in Qurghon Teppa yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. A package containing narcotic drug that was tested positive to heroin weighing some 900 grams was confiscated from him. Y.Z. was going to transport the drugs to Russia by the train Qurghon Teppa-Moscow.
Two accomplices to this crime other – Y.F. and Y.A. (both are residents of Vahdat as well) – were detained the same day.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddlers and an investigation is under way.
