DUSHANBE, March 2, 2010, Asia-Plus -- On Tuesday March 2, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi received Abd Al-Rahman Ibn Said Al-Juma’, Charge d’Affaires, Saudi Arabian Embassy in Dushanbe.
According to the MFA information department, Zarifi congratulated Abd Al-Rahman Ibn Said Al-Juma’ on the appointment to that post and noted that Saudi Arabia was the first Arab country to open its diplomatic mission in Dushanbe.
In the course the talks, the sides expressed satisfaction with the present level of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia.
Zarif noted that Tajikistan was ready for closer and active cooperation with Saudi Arabia on all issues being of mutual interest, as well as within regional and international organizations.
The two also exchanged views on the upcoming session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) that is scheduled to take place in the Tajik capital in May this year.
