KULOB, March 3, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The Islamic Revival Party (IRPT) yesterday filed a lawsuit against the Kulob polling stations ## 1, 4, 7 and 32 for elections to local legislature in the Kulob city court.
Mahmadsharif Nabiyev, head of the IRPT organization for the Kulob zone, says that numerous irregularities, including cases of ballot stuffing, were registered on election day. “Besides, they impeded work of the party observers and the election results were not posted at the stations,” said Nabiyev. “There are also other violations that will be considered during the trial.”
We will recall that IRPT nominated 28 candidates to run for election to the Kulob city legislature, which has 40 seats.
