Besides, the ruling PDPT won elections in 38 of 40 single-mandate constituencies, while voting will be re-run in the Konibodom constituency.

The PDPT member Nasrullo Mahmoudov and candidate of the Social-Democratic Party (SDPT) Shokirjon Hakimov are competing for a seat in parliament in the Konibodom constituency.  Since none of the contenders managed to win an absolute majority during the first round, the second round of voting will take place in this constituency on March 14.

Two other seats in the single-mandate constituencies were split between APT and the Party of Economic Reforms.

Thus, PDPT won 54 seats out of 63 in the Majlisi Namoyndagon in the February 28 poll.  The results mean little will change from the previous parliament where PDPT held 57 seats.
