DUSHANBE, March 10, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) discovered a large amount of heroin yesterday, while making preventive raid at the Dushanbe airport, according to the DCA press service.

They used drug detection dogs Nora and Rich to check the airport cloak chamber.  Five packages containing narcotic drug that was tested positive to heroin weighing some five kilograms were found in two suitcases, the source said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted on the drug trafficking charges and an investigation is under way.
