DUSHANBE, March 11, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- On Wednesday March 10, the GBAO police directorate chief Yusuf Nazarshoyev met with residents of Khorog’s neighborhood named after the 75th Anniversary of Khorog over implementation of president’s decree of December 2, 1994 on confiscation of illegally possessed weapons from the population, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

After the meeting, residents of this neighborhood voluntarily handed over two Makarov pistols, one Western type pistol and two grenade launchers RPG-22, the source at a MoI said.

According to him, 280 firearms, 29 grenade launchers, 163 hand grenades and other ammunition have been confiscated or handed over to the law enforcement authorities in the country since the beginning of this year.
