KHUJAND, March 11, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The state unitary enterprise, Zarya Vostoka, which is located in the Tajik northern city of Taboshar, has begun to manufacture acrylic paint for façade surfaces.
The enterprise director Abdurahim Rasoulov told Asia-Plus today that Zarya Vostoka has produced the first ten tons of acrylic paint to this day.
Acrylic paint is fast-drying paint containing pigment suspended in an acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints can be diluted with water, but become water-resistant when dry.
“For the first time, we have managed to produce acrylic paint mainly on the basis local materials (70 percent) and the remaining chemicals have been brought from Russia and China,” Rasoulov said.
According to him, Zarya Vostoka that had previously manufactured mainly defense products now produces four items of civilian goods, including general mechanical rubber goods such as galoshes, pipes and hoses.
The enterprise now operates only at 20 percent of its capacity, five days per week. 400 people now work with Zarya Vostoka.
