DUSHABE, March 15, 2010, Asia-Plus -- The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) is continuing to support implementation of the drug prevention campaign in Tajikistan, Ambassador Ivar Vikki, the Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on March 15.
According to him, cooperation between the OSCE Office in Tajikistan and the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) is at very good level and the OSCE Office assists the DCA with the comprehensive implementation of its drug prevention campaign.
The OSCE Office will support the Tajik counternarcotics agency in the future as well, Ambassador Vikki told reporters, noting that the OSCE Office plans to finance drug prevention events organized by the DCA this year.
Mr. Oliver Jansen, an officer with the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, noted that the OSCE plans to allocate 39,000 euros for organization of various drug prevention events in Tajikistan. The drug prevention events with a special focus on youth will be held in ten districts of the country as well as in Dushanbe, Mr. Jansen
